Other than brief brushes with formal instruction Bernard Conrad is primarily a self-taught sculptor who has declined much in the way of public showing. "In sculpting I seek images that are already in existence in nature..." Bernard believes his job as a sculptor is to make these hidden images visible to viewers of art, that they might find beauty, harmony, tranquility; even reflective tension or tragedy.
