Jim Deardorff
|
Jim uses wood from Oregon Alder trees in the furniture that he makes. Alder is an abundant, rapidly growing hardwood that has traditionally been left as slash, to be burned after softwood clear cutting. Jim incorporates it, bark and all, into his unique designs. Each piece of alder is hand selected, dried and then assembled into finished furniture using mortise and tenon joints and dowelled construction to ensure a final product that is beautiful, and structurally sound so that it will last for generations.
