Deanna Hanson
|
Deanna Hanson's clay sculptures of African women started after seeing a photograph of 13 women from Kenya in a semi circle singing and clapping there hands. She was instantly inspired and wanted to recreate them in clay. Each piece takes about 20 hours and is fired very hot with a Raku finish. Her women tell a story and display facial expressions that reveal specific emotions.
