Cynthia Herron

In her paintings, Cynthia walks a fine line between representation and complete abstraction.  With her acrylic paints, silk fabric and oil pastel materials, she works to capture the essence and light of various locations.  Formally, her work is influenced by the color field paintings of Mark Rothko, the Luminist landscape paintings of the nineteenth century, Joseph Albers’ squares and the soft minimalist paintings of Agnes Martin.
