Kathy Knowles
| In beginning to form a block of clay into a figurative sculpture, Kathy thinks of the clay surface as canvas. Her first consideration is the semi- abstract flow of the human figure as she works with a live model. The textures of hair and garments lead to glaze and firing choices. The elements of sculpting, graphic art with texture glaze, Raku firing techniques, and finding natural stone bases are integral to each individual three dimensional piece. |
