Totem Shriver is a well known wood artist of Oregon.  He calls his style "Organic Poetic".  Organic in that the shapes carved reflect the natural world, and Poetic in that the pieces offer a microscopic view of a larger whole.  He loves working with wood and views it as a dynamic example of the natural world. Once he has started the on a piece of wood, he feels his way through the creative process,  rather than thinking his way through.
