Jan Wagstaff
|
After receiving a Masters of Fine Art degree from the California College of the Arts, Jan Wagstaff went on to teach at the art department at CSU Chico. She began exhibiting work professionally in 1972 and continues to do so. She now lives in Monterey, Ca., and works as an artist and a teacher. Her painted images of various bodies of water and plant life have evolved into studies of local grasses, both native and invasive species. What continually interests her is that these plants and grasses invite the viewer to look closely to observe shape, color, smell and the light that plays on them. She revisits subject matter and places regularly, to view them from new perspectives. |
