| Hiroki Morinoue is a native of Holualoa, Hawai'i and holds a bachelor's degree in fine arts from the California College of Arts and Crafts. Morinoue has worked successfully in a variety of media including mixed media painting, prints, ceramics and sculpture. In all of his works there is a compelling sense of place--of the shoreline, rocks, lava flows and skies of the Big Island. He has long been a patient observer of nature and, in particular, of its rhythms, cycles and patterns. He has shown his works in galleries across the mainland, and his art may also be seen in the State Federation for Culture and the Arts Collection, The Contemporary Museum, The Honolulu Academy of Arts Collection and The National Park's Collection. |
